So, I think it's time to shut it down. I could get the blogging bug again and post real soon, but as it stands now, I'm out of here.

Even though it would be a f*cked up thing, I'm hoping this is a publicity stunt a'la Jay-Z. But it looks like the dopest female emcee since MC Lyte is hanging up her mic. I'm a little late on finding this out, and it's breaking my heart. I've never really 'felt' female emcees had the same fire to hang in major spitters. But Jean Grae was different. The woman had her own style, her own sound... the fact that she could hold her own spittin' with Talib Kweli said it all.

Don't Go Ma... Please Don't Go...

After 2+ years of delays, her ill collabo with 9th Wonder is finally dropping to the masses. Unfortunately, it seems it'll be her swan song. What a way to go out.

To Jean Grae. It's hard to see one of my top 5 emcees right now go away. I can't express the magnitude you've had on keeping my faith in Hip-Hop alive. I hope that one day you'll realize the mistake you're making and pick the mic back up.

Almost Complete!!

Whew. A six year labor of love is coming to a close. I met D. Robinson at my last job. He's a song writer and im a beatmaker. We were on polar opposites of the creative spectrum but we knew there was something there. So we tinkered around make tracks at work. He's lay down some lyrics over a drum loop and I'd build the track around his vocals afterwards.

Over the years our collaboration got more formal and we had a good system down and eventually we a crap-load of songs under out belt. So we decide to make a run at putting a CD together. His spiritual lyrics/vocals over my soul inspired Hip-Hop beats. I don't know how to categorize what we have, but it's something I'm very proud of!

We currently down to final mastering the 8-10 track CD. It's a milestone for me. My first serious collaboration experience. How do we define the style? Lets say maybe Gil Scott-Heron meets Pete Rock? I don't know. Check out some of the sample songs below.
