I heard of this blog on a podcast. "The Orwell Prize" is posting entries from George Orwell's journal in real time... EXACTLY 70 YEARS LATER. So entries in his diary that he wrote August 9th, 1938 will be posted on August 9th, 2008. 

What's so compelling about this (at least to me) is the fact that Orwell is writing about things on the eve on World War II. It's interesting to hear such a great mind's thoughts and ideas on the signs of the time. Another cool thing is they offer footnotes for things that appear in the journals that aren't known by most of us today (i.e. certain people he refers to in personal terms and products that no longer are around today).

I love the concept of vox blogs. the whole neighborhood thing, and the common structure to make it easy to navigate through other people's blogs and groups. But at the same time, I hate the fact that it's not an open technology. I know it sounds kinda stupid, but to me, the look and feel of this blog is clunky. 


Right now, I'm trying to fine tune my online presence. I tried to make this blog my main one, and my former spot at toddkelley.net totally devoted to my music interests. Plus I think i'm subscribed to every social networking site on the net. Back when I had a lot of free time on my hands, it was cool. Now, I can barely find time to use twitter,

Lucky for me, the new trend is sites that aggregate all these sites to a single page so you can update them simultaneously. Sites like Ping.fm, kwippy, Friendfeed and others have been a Godsent. Now, I just need to sort my blogs so i can do multiple updates at once. Vox is a closed technology so i can't use something like ping.fm to do updates, and that's a problem. So i have to figure out if i'm gonna stick with vox due to it's easy of use, or switch to blogger or wordpress to make my life alot easier.

What to do, what to do?
