Even though it would be a f*cked up thing, I'm hoping this is a publicity stunt a'la Jay-Z. But it looks like the dopest female emcee since MC Lyte is hanging up her mic. I'm a little late on finding this out, and it's breaking my heart. I've never really 'felt' female emcees had the same fire to hang in major spitters. But Jean Grae was different. The woman had her own style, her own sound... the fact that she could hold her own spittin' with Talib Kweli said it all.

After 2+ years of delays, her ill collabo with 9th Wonder is finally dropping to the masses. Unfortunately, it seems it'll be her swan song. What a way to go out.

To Jean Grae. It's hard to see one of my top 5 emcees right now go away. I can't express the magnitude you've had on keeping my faith in Hip-Hop alive. I hope that one day you'll realize the mistake you're making and pick the mic back up.
