After this pregnancy, I'm going to be a professional MMA-fighter. Mini has turned head down, and is kicking me in the ribs on a daily basis. I think I can take a punch after a few months of a baby using my ribs as a xylophone. Plus, my darling husband once suggested it to me because he thinks I have the perfect personality for ultimate fighting. Which is a really nice way of saying "I love you, but you're crazy".

I find myself holding my hands at the bottom of my stomach more and more often, and that is partially because it weighs so much that I'm convinced it will fall of of me and create a hole in the ground if I don't hold on to it for dear life. Other than that, I'm completely normal.

Still having contractions, and they seem to piss the kid off big time. A lot of the painless ones come during the night, and I don't necessarily wake up in them at all, but when a contraction stops, the smallest member of our family needs to make it known that Living Space has been violated! Hellooo, I'm offended over here and your stupid uterus is squeezing me! Kick, punch, nudge...

Such a little sweetheart.

But I have to admit, with all the personality displays so far, I think I'd be a bit disappointed if Mini came out and turned out to be the easiest baby ever made. Although I don't think that's a realistic scenario considering the mix of genes the kid is made of.

It looks like a perfect day! Starting out at 50 degrees and sunny! November has turned out to be just lovely!
I'm off to physical therapy...can't wait til this is done. It's not difficult or painful or anything...just an hour three times a week that is rather inconvenient and intrusive. But, all for a good cause....Mobile Toes R Us!

I am having Mom, Dad, sis and three kids, brother and nephew, over tomorrow for Mom's birthday dinner.

So after PT it's to the grocery store. Then a quick clean up of the house. Hopefully I'll see sis and kids tonight...depends on how long it takes them to get here from Chicago!

Ok...time to get a move on! Y'all have a nice weekend!

Such a nice night for mid-November at the 400 Bar. Athletes in Slacks (myspace) warmed up the crowd with their laidback loungey harmonizing sound that only two keyboarders and a guitarist can produce. The band claims all their songs are about love, except later on their hour-long set, they introduced a song about hating two guys from New York. They did finish strong with a cover of INXS's "Never Tear Us Apart", and that's what really matter.

The first time I heard about Swedish band Little Dragon, was in January. Ceji was really into them. Since we generally like Swedish bands here, I did try and keep up with their whereabouts. As it turns out, they're in the middle of their tour through the US to promote their sophomore album, Machine Dreams. Although the band's been here already, they confessed last night that this was their first time in Minneapolis.

They didn't do Ceji's favorite "Recommendation" song, but I though hands-down their best song played was "After The Rain", complete with an amazing ending.

From what I heard from their live set, their new songs seems to drifts from the R&B and Jazz influence to more electro and beats. I think the combination works well for them, especially since I like their big beats/electronica sound.

Little Dragon

So one thing I should point out is that singer Yukimi Nagano's dance moves looks very martial and yoga-like. She's often doing this tough smirk and her fists in boxing stance. It's as if she's saying, "bring it on". The way she dances and handles herself, she seems like she was born to be an entertainer.

I've been to a lot of shows lately, and I can tell you that this was one of the best shows yet. They're heading their way to the East Coast, so definitely check them out. If they're not heading through your city, you should check out Machine Dreams, out now on Peacefrog Records.
